GERMAN ARTISTPeter Klonowski
Peter Klonowski was born in 1960 in Traunstein in Upper Bavaria. He first became aware of his artistic tendencies while studying at the grammar school (gymnasium). Art objects were the only ones in which he achieved excellent results. After successfully completing his studies, he began to devote himself to art, and it gradually became his primary profession. The first exhibition, held in 1981, proved that he had made the right choice. His first pieces of art were sold.
Currently, Peter Klonowski’s works of art are kept in many private collections not only in his home region of Eastern Bavaria and Upper Austria, but also in Berlin, Munich, Cologne, and Leipzig. Some works have found their way to the international art collections in Spain, Italy, Morocco, the USA, and Scotland.
In his work, Peter Klonowski draws mainly from his rich fantasy and perfect imagination. He paints on large canvases but also uses wooden boards. He creates large-scale murals intended not only for private collectors, but also for the walls of hotels, banks, and state and private institutions. The author sees the fact that the city is interested in his work as an expression of appreciation.
In 2014, Peter Klonowski participated in the largest solo exhibition held on the occasion of the “European Weeks”. In collaboration with the cultural department of the municipality of Passau, he presented more than 70 works entitled “Ars Poetica” at the Kloster Asbach Museum.
Currently, Peter Klonowski lives and works in Oberkappel, Austria. He regularly exhibits his works of art in his own, as well as collective, exhibitions, runs his private painting school, and participates in many creative projects for children and youth.
The author still perceives the realisation of panoramic murals and illusion paintings as a new, exciting challenge. With each new day, a whole new world opens up…
